Every party for your baby is special. Alright, we will call it extra-special because your baby is extra-special. And, you would want everything to move smoothly. So, you have a guest list that also has the adequate number of adults to look after the toddlers who would be experiencing, possibly, for the first time the presence of so many other children.
Here are some pointers on celebrating your baby’s second birthday.
Fix a Guest list: You can invite those who are close to your family and a few other toddlers with their parents. A good way to determine the length of the guest list is to think how your child has reacted to large and small gatherings in the past. Choose the size of your party you think your child will be comfortable with. You certainly wouldn’t like to have a whole bunch of toddlers crying their heart out or throwing a tantrum. This is why the presence of their parents will be helpful.
Party timings: Most children in this age group take an afternoon nap. So it is best to choose a time that does not coincide with your baby’s sleep hours. You want to pick a timing in the evening that would not interfere with the normal schedule of other toddlers, too.
Venue: Home is generally the ideal place for you to throw your child’s second birthday party. But if you think that your guest size will not feel at home at your house, then you can arrange the party elsewhere, either indoor or a park or a local recreation centre.
Theme: There are dime a dozen themes you can choose from. In fact, there are a lot of customized themes available. You only need to look around and you will find them. You can choose a theme of your baby’s favourite cartoon characters or anything else that she is happy with. Music in the background could also be something that your child loves listening to.
Food: Offer food that is easy for the little guests to eat. So that they do not make a mess of their clothes or the place. Keep foodstuff that children are fond of. In fact, you should also check with parents of other children as to what their babies love to eat so that a choice of food can be placed on the table for them to choose from.
Goody bags: The little guests appreciate goody bags. You don’t need to spend too much money for that. But, toddlers would love to open their goody bags and play with little toys, stationery items, stickers, chocolates etc. Generally, small little things which would make any toddler happy.
Activities: Simple games and activities like Ring around the Rosey, dancing to music will keep the little guests entertained.
