Pregnancy is a very beautiful phase of a woman’s life. During this phase, mind as well as the body goes through various transformations. As you enter your third trimester, a baby bump is prominently visible. At this stage, most of the clothes in your wardrobe don’t fit you anymore. You might find yourself in a constant fashion fix. In this article, we present a few tips as to what to wear with confidence and look a gorgeous mother-to-be.
Fashion during pregnancy can be broadly classified into two categories, Party Wear and Casual Wear.
Party Wear: You might want to enjoy a party or two before you are finally arrested by the small tender arms which will need all your love, care and attention. Short flowy empire waist gowns are very trendy. You can also choose to wear a loose little black dress. Anne Hathaway’s dress at a recent premiere night was very chic.
Long ankle length gowns, which are chic enough to be worn post pregnancy too, can be worn with flair during your last trimester.
If you are a fan of Indian ethnic wear, anarkalis are the in thing for pregnant ladies. Shilpa Shetty Kundra carried herself with grace, during her third-trimester outings, in gorgeous anarkali suits.
If you feel like limiting your wardrobes to monochromes to hide your ever growing bump, you can accessorize with a colorful printed stole, or beautiful beads necklaces to add zing to your attire.
Casual Wear: You don’t need to wear only loose fitting clothes and end up feeling like a sack of potatoes. Skinny jeans or leggings, with a figure hugging top, make you feel very trendy. You can wear a jacket or throw on a shrug, to cover your bump partially. Many maternity wear brands are now selling skinny jeans which stretch at the waist to accommodate those extra inches. Kate Middleton looked a million dollars in all the casuals she wore during her maternity.
Loose short cotton kurtis paired with leggings look great and feel comfortable Indian attires during pregnancy. Covering up with a colorful dupatta is also a good option. Our petite star, Rani Mukerji, looked fabulous in a yellow cotton outfit during an outing.
A soft sari draped casually also looks great on all sizes. Thankfully, you don’t need to fit exactly into a sari. A few commonly used colors blouses can do for some time, till you are back in shape.
Third trimester is a time, when your hormones are working the best for you. You are blessed with glowing skin. Your hair is also thick and abundant thanks to all the folic acid you have been prescribed. Best way to look fashionable is to wear what you are comfortable in. And don’t forget to wear a beautiful smile, an accessory that goes well with any outfit.
