Most of us find it very challenging to keep the health records of our children and maintain it over a long period of time. The simplest thing that a parent can do is to keep a folder and put all the records together in that folder. But it is easier said than done. Often we fail to do it and later find ourselves searching for older prescriptions or lab reports and unable to find them when required.
BabyBerry provides an easy and systematic way to keep all the health records of your children accessible anytime, anywhere. Managing health records with BabyBerry is as simple as composing emails with attachments.
What are health records?
Your child’s health records include vaccination charts, growth charts, milestone charts, prescriptions, lab reports and more.
How do I add a new record?
In BabyBerry, click Manage Health Records from the home screen and then click on the + icon at the top to add a new record.
What should be the details?
Give the record a title (probably highlighting the issue for which you visited the doctor eg sneezing, fever etc.), date and the doctor name. More often than not, you would want to make some notes regarding the health record, such as allergic reactions, how well the medicines worked, etc. The notes are like your email body, keep them crisp and short. These notes will come in very handy to understand the context of the health record when you look at it later. You must add at least two tags for each health record. Tags are nothing but keywords that you can later use for searching. Sample tags for a prescription could be the symptoms; for a lab report it could be the parameters checked.
What are attachments?
BabyBerry handles attachments very similar to email. If you have a hard copy of the health record, simply take a photograph of it and attach it to the health record. You can have up to 6 attachments for every single health record. If you have a soft copy (PDF or Doc) of the health record, download them first to your mobile and simply attach them to the health record.
Once you have put in the details and added attachments, click on the ? icon at the top to save the record.
BabyBerry keeps a copy of each health record in the phone and also backs it up on the cloud so that you can access it even when there is no connectivity. You can go and search for your health records based on the tag, or date or doctor’s name by clicking on the search icon in the health records screen and entering relevant information.
Go ahead, use it and let the BabyBerry team know what you think of it!
