The reason why compliments are due to you at this stage is because it is well known that twin pregnancies have the propensity to deliver before the term ends. Now, at this stage, if you have carried on the twins with the discipline that is required of a mother, then it is just about possible for the doctors to make the babies survive. There are several reasons for this survival.
By the end of this month, the babies would have gained a considerable amount of weight and height. They would have fat around their skin and they would be able to open and shut their eyes. At this stage, they can even listen to some music and, possibly, respond with a jerk or a movement.
And, as they grow, you will feel the pressure more and more on your back and pelvic region as the babies keep moving. Their movement may not be much because there is little space now left for them to move around. You will need to take rest. And, you need not worry about it. The simple reason is that if you rest, it will help their growth further.
This is also the time when you will begin to feel contractions of the uterus which is not very different from what you would have felt during menstrual cramps. These are called Braxton Hicks Contractions. They will come and go. But, you need to keep track of them because you should be able to differentiate between these contractions and preterm labour.
It would be a good idea for you to discuss the difference with the doctor when you go for the glucose tolerance test and the B Streptococcus test.
