1. Banana Puree:
Banana is the “perfect” food as they are rich in potassium and fiber. Bananas are also known as one of nature’s own antacids and are good for digestion. Even if bananas are one of the best first foods for babies, be careful not to give excess as too many bananas can cause constipation.
To prepare banana puree all you need is one full banana and little amount of milk. Peel one full banana and mash it with a fork. During the initial stage of weaning, add a little milk to reduce the consistency and to add a familiar taste.
2. Brown Rice Cereal:
Rice cereal is the most common first baby food as it is non-allergenic and can be easily digested. Rice cereal can help baby make an easy transition from all liquid diet to something more solid by mixing the cereal to a fairly thin texture. Also, the best thing about rice cereals is it can be mixed with other purees as well to add taste and flavor.
To prepare this, you will need ½ cup of brown rice and 4 cups of water. Add the uncooked brown rice in a blender and grind it into fine powder looking substance. Add 4 cups of water into the ground rice and boil it. Lower the heat and cover the rice for about 20 minutes. Check the mixture for consistency and add more water to make it thinner.
3. Baked Sweet Potato Puree:
We all know sweet potatoes are loaded with vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber. Therefore, your baby can undoubtedly be benefited from this delicious tuber. A simple plain puree of sweet potato with a little water or milk can make a nutritious first food for your baby.

To prepare this, scrub the potato and prick the surface of the potato with a fork. Place the potato on a baking tray and bake it for about 45 minutes. Remove it from the oven and cut it into a half. Scoop out the puree and blend it until smooth. You can add a little milk to reduce the thickness of the consistency.
4. Carrot Puree:
Due to the natural sweetness and pleasant texture of carrots, it can be one of the best first baby food for your little one. This simple puree of carrots can provide a rich supply of vitamin A and antioxidant beta carotene which is essential for your junior’s growth.

To make this, all you need is 2-3 carrots and some water. Peel the carrots and trim it into medium size. Put them in a pan with 1 cup water. Bring to boil and reduce the simmer. Cover it with a lid and let it boil for about 25 minutes. After 25 minutes let it cool inside the pan itself and then puree the carrots in a blender. You can also freeze the puree in small portions so that you can store it a little longer.
