Being pregnant is the most exciting phase of life for every woman. Growing a belly and putting on weight due to hormonal changes during pregnancy can be very stressful. Meditation relaxes both mind and body. It helps in your natural delivery and reduces complications. It is also advisable for the mother to indulge in listening to melodious songs and reading books which can turn out to be quite beneficial during pregnancy.
Here are a few simple meditation exercises for you:
1. Meditation while walking
Go to a park or any place you like. Start walking by keeping your breath in a slow pace, and concentrating on your belly. This can help you focus during your labour.
2. Visualise and Meditate
Sit comfortably and think of a blooming lotus, waves of the sea, or a baby. Focus on your breath and increase the count slowly and gradually.
3. Mediate talking to yourself
There is a lot of power in your words. Speak to yourself and you will believe it. There is a power in our subconscious mind which will affect your nervous system and your way of being. Try saying “Mummy can do it. Mummy can breathe for you” This can help you during difficult times in your labour.
